Landmark Group, the region's largest retail and hospitality conglomerate, announced the opening of Oasis Mall, its first neighbourhood shopping destination in Oman. The new mall has opened in the coastal district of Al Khuwayr in Muscat.
The bright and airy environment houses some of the region's leading fashion, footwear, accessories and home brands, as well as highly popular dining and entertainment options for the entire family, culminating in a wholesome shopping experience. Mark Ruffley, business head Oasis Mall, said, 'The retail sector in Oman has been witnessing steady and sustained growth over the past five years, particularly in Muscat, and with cities such as Salalah and Sohar also showing great potential for growth, we are aiming to have two more malls open by 2018. Our focus is to provide our customers with a best in class neighbourhood shopping experience and we believe that Oasis Mall will become the 'go-to' destination for the entire Al Khuwayr community, and an integral part of their daily lives by providing an environment that is fun, inviting, affordable and approachable.' Designed to offer an easy shopping journey, the new Oasis Mall is spread over two levels, showcasing its 38 outlets. The retail mix includes household names from Landmark Group's portfolio such as Centrepoint, Home Centre, Max, Emax ,New Look, Koton and Shoexpress.
Landmark Group's ICONIC, a trendy one-stop fashion destination offering wardrobe solutions for men, women and kids, will also make its Oman debut, with its flagship outlet.
International brands such as Mothercare, Mikyajay, Nayomi, Hour Choice, Magrabi Opticians and Supa Sportsman are an integral part of the diverse mix, adding great strength to the mall's overall retail offering. When it comes to dining, shoppers can enjoy a shopping break at a host of popular fast/casual dining options such as Pizza Hut, McDonald's, Baskin Robbins, Bombay Chowpatty, Shirazi and Shiwa Express. On the entertainment side, Fun City, Landmark Group's family entertainment centre, will provide children and young adults with a variety of fun activities in specially created learning and play zones. In addition to retail and hospitality options, Oasis Mall will also feature a pharmacy, perfumery and a chocolaterie. Clive Freeman, COO, Landmark Group Oman said, 'As Landmark Group continues to expand the Oasis Mall brand across the GCC, this already popular destination was the ideal location to launch our first Oasis Mall in Oman, extending the offering to our loyal customers, and residents of the community. With a population of over 400,000 residents representing 36 per cent of Muscat's total population, Al Khuwayr is an affluent neighbourhood which is relatively under-served in terms of retail. By bringing a new kind of shopping experience to the community, we are very positive about getting strong support and building a greater relationship.' Landmark Group started its operations in Oman in 1992.
