Jizan 24 Sha'ban,1437 AH, 31 May,2016 , SPA -- Civil defense teams in Jizan yesterday evening controlled a fire that broke out in the first floor of a commercial building on an area of 10,000 square meters, and was able to surround it before extending to neighboring sites.
Major Yahya Al-Qahtani, the official spokesman of the Directorate of Civil Defense in Jazan region explained that the command center and guidance was informed yesterday evening about the fire accident, and immediately five teams were moved from the city of Jizan supported by 14 other squads with the participation of governmental and civil bodies, where the fire was contained so as not to reach the vicinity of the sites of the burning building that has not been opened yet, adding that the investigation is still underway to determine the cause of the fire.
Major Al-Qahtani said a Yemeni resident was injured during the blaze due to suffocation and given the necessary treatment at the site.
