National Archives participates in Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2016

ABU DHABI 26th April 2016 (WAM) -- The National Archives of the United Arab Emirates has completed its preparations for participation in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2016 with a stand featuring a number of events related to its functions presenting rare documents historical documentaries and new publications.

In the first days of the exhibition the National Archives is organising a signing ceremony to launch the book "Heart of the Desert" which looks at the efforts of oil companies in the south of the Arabian Peninsula at a critical stage of development. The book paints an accurate portrait of the economic social and political situation of the period highlighting the huge shift which the region has gone through leading to its current affluence and prosperity.

The Department of Educational Programmes in the National Archives will present workshops reading from three of the most important National Archives book publications: "Zayed from Challenge to Union" "Khalifa Journey into the Future" "Qasr al-Hosn: biography of the Rulers of Abu Dhabi". The aim of these books has been to encourage the culture of reading among students contributing to the nurturing of generations enabling them to participate in the process of growth and development.

The National Archives also offers these three books printed in Braille and interviewer Ahmed Al Ghafli will be holding a conversation about the Braille version of "Khalifa Journey into the Future".
