HE Prime Minister Opens 15th International MEEA Conference


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani opened Wednesday the 15th International Conference of the Middle East Economic Association (MEEA), hosted by Doha Institute for Graduate Studies at Ritz Carlton Hotel.

The three-day conference, held under the theme "The Impact of Oil Price Changes on the Economic Growth and Development in the MENA Countries", will examine the impact of the decline in oil prices on vital sectors in the economies of the regions, and how they interact with the economic development under different market conditions.

The conference will also cover topics related to the oil shale industry and its impact on oil prices, and the relationship between the number of oil production platforms and oil prices, as well as the impacts of falling oil prices on the financial markets and exchange rates, in addition to labor and capital markets in the region.

The conference includes more than 80 research papers presented by 110 economists about the Middle East economies and oil prices, as well as topics relating to the economics of education and employment.

Several seminars on the impact of oil prices on monetary, fiscal policies and the global trend will be held on the sidelines of the conference.
