Russian TV shows troops loading equipment in Syria for return

MOSCOW: Russian state television onTuesday showed personnel at Russia's air base in Syria loadingequipment onto transport aircraft for return to Russia a dayafter President Vladimir Putin ordered the bulk of his country'smilitary contingent there to start to withdraw.
The images broadcast on the Rossiya 24 TV station showedpersonnel loading equipment onto Ilyushin Il-76 heavy lifttransport aircraft at Russia's Hmeymim air base in Latakiaprovince.
The defence ministry said in a separate statement thattechnical staff had begun preparing aircraft to fly back totheir bases in Russia.
