Arsenal Soccer School Oman brings home three trophies

On February 25 Arsenal Soccer School Oman (ASSO) set off to Dubai with more than 30 children to take part the in the Middle East Cup.

Overall there were four different age groups taking part within the tournament: Under 8 Under 10 Under 12 and Under 14. There were teams that participated from Saudi Arabia Bahrain Dubai Kuwait and Arsenal Soccer School representing Oman.

On February 26 Arsenal Soccer School Oman teams set off to Dubai Seven. The tournament kicked off with the Under 10 and Under 12 matches. Both teams performed absolutely amazing and the Under 12 team managed to come second in the group stages qualifying for the main cup. The Under 10 team were one point away from the main cup but also qualified for the plate. The U10 won the Cup by coming from behind to beat Arsenal Soccer School from Kuwait 3-2 in a tense match.

Later that day the Under 14 kicked off their campaign and went the entire day without losing a game. Overall scoring 35 goals in seven games and only conceding one. This meant they were top of the group and qualified for the main cup.

February 27 was day two of the Middle East Cup. ASSO started the day with full on back to back matches for Under 8 age group. They did incredibly and won 4 drew 2 and lost 2 which meant they came fourth and qualified for the main cup.

Later that day Under 8 lost 1-0 in the semi-finals but then went on to win in the third place play off which meant they were third in the whole tournament.

During the afternoon ASSO under 10 and Under 12 finished off the group stages.

Both Under 10 and Under 12 ASSO teams went on to the semis and finals. The Under 10 were champions of the plate. The U12 won the Cup by beating Tekkers from Bahrain on penalties after the score tied 1-1 in normal time. They also finished unbeaten in the whole tournament and were champions of the main Middle East Cup. The U14 were proudly crowned champions of the Middle East Cup and won the cup by beating Arsenal Soccer School from Kuwait 2-0 in the final. They also finished the weekend unbeaten.

Overall the whole tournament was fantastic because ASSO teams were front row viewers of some real football talent within the Middle East. It was a huge success for Arsenal Soccer School Oman to walk away with three trophies out of four but the main highlight was seeing everyone having so much fun.
