Abu Dhabi to host IIHF Ice Hockey Challenge Cup of Asia on 12th March

ABU DHABI 7th March 2016 (WAM) -- The United Arab Emirates Ice Sports Federation has announced that the capital Abu Dhabi will host the competitions of the ninth edition of The IIHF Ice Hockey Challenge Cup of Asia from 12th to 18th March at Zayed Sports City under the supervision of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF and supported by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

The tournament involves five teams from the United Arab Emirates Thailand Mongolia Chinese Taipei and Singapore.

Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei Chairman of the United Arab Emirates Ice Sports Federation hailed Abu Dhabi for hosting the ninth edition of the IIHF Ice Hockey Challenge Cup of Asia stressing that this translates the great support of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces for sports and athletes with the close attention and patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation Chairman of Abu Dhabi Sports Council and its prominent impact on the achievement of excellence and development for UAE sport.
