CIL holds lecture on Oman Iran relations

The Center for International learning (CIL) a Muscat based institute that teaches Arabic and English to non-native speakers hosted the first lecture of its 2016 Lecture Series recently.

Dr Mohammed al Muqaddam professor of Modern Contemporary History at Sultan Qaboos University spoke on 'Oman-Iran Relations since the time of his majesty Sultan
Qaboos bin Said'.

The event was held on CIL's campus in North al Hail. The lecture which was succeeded by a lively Q & A session was delivered to a packed audience with individuals representing the various embassies in Muscat private and public sector employees in addition to CIL's diverse body of students.

'We are very excited for the upcoming lectures that will take place once every month this year given the massive success of our first one' said Fatima Muneer associate director of marketing and business development at CIL and the main organiser of the event.

'All lectures to be delivered will focus on Oman-related issues and we plan on bringing the best Omani experts to present them. Our goal is to educate and enlighten Oman's residents through these public events in order to achieve intellectual exchange and understanding.'

Said al Ismaily managing partner at the center remarked that the lecture had to be very specific in its focus since Oman-Iran relations extends to well beyond 1970.
