Kuwait- Saudi Shura Council grateful for Al Ghanim's support

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT March 1 (KUNA) -- The National Assembly discussed in its ordinary session on Tuesday a cable sent by Chairman of the Saudi Shura Council Abdullah Al Al Sheikh where he praised the strong stance of Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim to support Saudi in a recent Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting.Al-Ghanim has expressed opposition to the speech of his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani against Saudi Arabia during the 11th conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC (PUIC) held in Baghdad on January 24.During the meeting Al-Ghanim said that "if the Saudi delegation is not present at the event the Kuwaiti delegation and myself will represent Saudi Arabia". "We will not accept any interference in Saudi's matters" he added.Meanwhile the session also included presentation of a letter sent by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to thank Al-Ghanim and MPs for congratulating His Highness on the National Day and the Liberation Day.The national assembly also discussed draft laws and recommendations on the agenda of the current legislative term in addition to amendments on several laws including the Kuwait Airways law number 6/2008.(end) rkf.ag
