Qatar- Seoul Appoints S. Korea's Top Nuclear Envoy


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Seoul February 29 (QNA) - South Korea's Deputy Minister for Political Affairs Kim Hong-kyun at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been named the nation's new chief delegate to the six-way nuclear talks.
The Foreign Ministry said Monday that Kim's predecessor Hwang Joon-kook was named the ambassador to the UK according to Korea's (KBS WORLD) radio.
Kim served as the head of the Foreign Ministry's North American Affairs Bureau and aide to the foreign minister. He had also headed the Korean Peninsula Peace Regime Bureau under the Foreign Ministry’s Office of Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs.
When the Park Geun-hye administration launched Kim served as an adviser on foreign affairs defense and unification in the presidential transition committee.
Also on Monday the Foreign Ministry named Kim Hyoung-zhin the head of the Office of Planning and Coordination as the deputy foreign minister for political affairs. (QNA)
