UAE Brazil's second largest Arab export market in 2015 report

DUBAI 2nd February 2016 (WAM) --- The UAE was the second biggest market for Brazilian exports in the Arab countries last year with US$2.5 billion (AED9.1 billion) according to data released by the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.

The South American country exported products worth more than US$12.1 billion to the region last year.

Brazilian exports to Saudi Arabia increased the most to reach more than US$2.7 billion up from the US$2.5 billion figure of 2014. Egypt came in third place at a little more than US$2 billion.

Michel Alaby Secretary-General and CEO Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce said Brazil continues to maintain outstanding business ties with the Arab World as demonstrated by the recent export data.

He said in the near future Brazil aims to further increase the volume of its exports to Arab countries to revitalise its economy. "We will continue to support its introduction of more products to the regional market."

Brazil's top exports to Arab countries include inorganic chemicals rare earth materials grains seeds fruits and cereals.
