The ship was transporting3600 tons of wood and construction equipment from Gabon Africa to theport of Le Havre when it listed heavily in rough seas. All 22 crew members of Modern Express were evacuated safely by Spanish search and rescue helicopterson Tuesdayafter the vessel's cargo shifted causing a 40 degree list in high seas and gale force winds.
