Morocco- Video: Salvage Team to Retry Towing Ship Adrift off France Waters


(MENAFN- Morocco World News) ;">Rabat- France's Maritime Prefect Atlantic announced that a new attempt to tow the Panamanian-flaggedModern Express is likely to take placeon Saturday. The vessel has been in distress 150 nautical miles west of La Rochelle for nearly a week.

Weather previously prevented the salvage team from boarding the vesselwith waves four to five meters high.

The ship was transporting3600 tons of wood and construction equipment from Gabon Africa to theport of Le Havre when it listed heavily in rough seas.

All 22 crew members of Modern Express were evacuated safely by Spanish search and rescue helicopterson Tuesdayafter the vessel's cargo shifted causing a 40 degree list in high seas and gale force winds.
