Lebanon fails to elect president for 34th time


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT Jan 7 (KUNA) -- Lebanese lawmakers failed for the 34th time to elect a president in today's parliament session Official media sources announced on Thursday.The session was postponed to February 8th due to lack of lack of quorum as only 36 MPs were present.At least 86 MPs of the 128 must be present in line with the country's constitution.Lebanon has been without a president since May 25th 2014 when the six-year term of former president Michel Suleiman ended.
