Qatar- Turkish Soldier Killed during Security Operation in Diyarbakir
(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Ankara January 04 (QNA) - A Turkish soldier has died in hospital after being hurt in an anti-terror operation in southeastern Turkey the Turkish General Staff said in a statement on Monday.
The soldier was seriously wounded during an operation against the PKK organization in Sur district of southeastern Diyarbakir province on Sunday the statement added. He died in hospital on Monday according to Anadolu Agency (AA).
Turkish army launched joint operations against PKK militants since the middle of last December in Diyarbakir and Sirnak Provinces south east of the country Official figures indicate more than 200 members of the security forces have been martyred and over 1700 PKK militants killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq including airstrikes.
