Oman emerging as popular MICE destination among Indian firms

Oman is emerging as a preferred MICE destination among Indian companies an official with the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) has said. 'An Indian pharma company recently held a conference in Oman hosting over 200 people.

The sultanate is preferred as it has sea-facing hotels that provide great ambience ample conference and banqueting space restaurants serving Indian local and international cuisine and an excellent road Network amongst others' he said.

Huge meeting spaces and excellent accommodation facilities make Oman an ideal Meetings Incentives conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) destination. The country's easy accessibility from India is also an added lure he said The official added that Oman is becoming a prime destination for hosting marriages wedding anniversary bashes and is getting popular among Indian filmmakers for its locales.

'Oman has already hosted three grand weddings in Muscat. The cuisine customs and climate make Indian tourists feel at home. Moreover Muscat has a large Indian community' he said. Oman is also promoting itself as an adventure sports destination in India.

'We have learnt that Indian tourists love adventure sports. Oman has a range of options in this sector. Rafting canyoning rock climbing swimming dune bashing diving and snorkelling are some of the sports activities available for tourists' the official said adding 'Besides adventure sports tourists can also relax and pamper themselves at our spa and wellness centres.'
