World adopts historic Paris global warming pact
(MENAFN- AFP) Envoys from 195 nations on Saturday adopted to cheers and tears a historic accord to stop global warming, which threatens humanity with rising seas and worsening droughts, floods and storms.
"I see the room, I see the reaction is positive, I hear no objection. The Paris climate accord is adopted," said French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, banging down a gavel to cap a decades-long diplomatic quest to combat climate change.
