Qatar- Safe driving focus of QDVC event

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The "Let's All Be Responsible Drivers" campaign run by QDVC reached more than 5,000 employees including the company's partners, sub-contractors and clients, raising awareness about employee transportation and worksite equipment operation.

The second annual company-wide awareness campaign, which took place during 'International Safety Week,' focused on promoting road safety and responsible driving.

This year's campaign was geared towards reducing road risk. Five one-day workshops were held at QDVC's head office in addition to its five work sites: Sheraton Park project, Red Line South project, New Orbital Highway project, Light Railway Tram LRT project and Lusail underground project.

Yanick Garillon, QDVC CEO said: "Safety is a core value of our organisation and a top priority in all areas of the company's business and operations."

The five-day campaign was organised with the support of the Ministry of Interior's Traffic Department and Qatar International Safety Centre to increase awareness in order to reduce fatalities and prevent serious injuries resulting from road accidents in Qatar.

Lt Abdul Wahid Ghareeb al-Anzi, traffic awareness officer at General Directorate of Traffic, said: "All are exposed to the risks of driving every day. It is a serious concern in Qatar where more than a million vehicles are registered. We are delighted to be asked by QDVC to support the event as part of their ongoing safety week campaign and we are very pleased to have reached 5,000 employees over the course of the five days."
