Riyadh and GCC summits report 6 Riyadh


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) On the 19th of December 2011 Riyadh hosted the 32nd Supreme Council of the GCC which was opened by late Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud who asserted that the meeting was being held amid challenges triggering vigilance and a time necessitating the unity of ranks and decision.
He demanded the leaders to move with the GCC from the phase of cooperation to the phase of unity and form one entity for their countries and peoples for the sake of their stability and security to push away the evils encircling them.
Then the leaders of the GCC held a closed-door session.
It was followed by a press conference held by late Prince Saud Al-Faisal the Foreign Minister in the attendance of the GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashed Al-Zayani noting that the leaders of the GCC have expressed welcome of late King Abdullah's proposal to move from the phase of cooperation to the phase of unity and to this effect they agreed to form a panel including three members from each country to study all aspects of the proposal and saying that the step would push the GCC march in the anticipated future as per the GCC statute which states that the objective of each member country is to achieve complete coordination integrity and interrelation of all countries in all fields to reach their unity.
