Saudi- Living in past
(MENAFN- Arab News) This is with reference to the report 'Pakistani petition seeks return of Koh-i-Noor diamond from Britain' (Dec. 4). What is use of wasting one's time over such silly matters? To this question many people will instantly brand me a traitor or a person with no respect for his national past. How long will we continue to live in the past? Why don't we look ahead in life? We have become a nation which continues to take pride in the achievements of their ancestors and do nothing to make our future generations feel proud of us.
The past achievements of our forefathers should serve as a guiding light and a source of inspiration for us to achieve great heights ourselves. The reason I called this petition a waste of time is that do we really expect our colonial master to return our national treasures so easily. I believe these are just gimmicks to earn media attention. Instead of wasting their time in such futile activities such people should do something constructive for the world.
