Jordan- policemen killed in patrol attack
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) An intensive investigating is underway following a deadly attack on a police patrol which claimed the lives of two security personnel, security sources said Tuesday.
The Public Security Department (PSD) said " around 12:00 AM Tuesday, a police patrol on duty came under heavy fire, in the northern region of Irbid governorate, hitting the commanding officer of the patrol whose rank is Captain and the Corporal driver and forcing the vehicle to veer and overturn".
The sources said medics rushed to the scene and ferried the two policemen to a nearby hospital but died of their wounds.
An investigation into the incident was initiated to bring the perpetrators to justice, the sources added.
