2 Palestinians shot wounded after 2 Jerusalem attacks injure Israeli


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Israeli forces shot and severely wounded two Palestinians one of them 12 years old after they were allegedly involved in two separate stabbing attacks on Israelis in occupied East Jerusalem on Tuesday.

Israeli media initially reported that one of the Palestinians was shot and killed outside Damascus Gate after attempting to stab an Israeli soldier although a spokesperson for Hadassah hospital later confirmed he was alive in critical condition.Israeli army spokesperson Peter Lerner said that the attack had been "foiled."Israel's emergency services Magen David Adom said that another person received a light wound to one of his hands during the incident.

Initial reports suggested he may have been a 50-year-old Palestinian man who was hit by Israeli crossfire although a spokesperson for Shaare Zedek Medical Center said they received an Israeli civilian who was lightly injured near Damascus gate.

Moments before the incident Israeli forces detained two Palestinian children following another alleged attack that took place on Jerusalem's light rail.

They shot and wounded one of the boys first Lerner said.Israeli police said that the children were 12 and 13 years old and the 12-year-old was reportedly in severe condition after he was shot and wounded.An Israeli security guard was left in moderate condition when he was stabbed and wounded on the light rail near the illegal Israeli settlement of Pisgat Zeef.
