Egyptian expats vote in Parl't elections runoff


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Egyptian expats started Monday morning casting their votes in the runoff of the two-day first phase of the parliamentary elections, the last step in the transitional roadmap at home.
The Egyptian embassies and consulates in 139 world countries are due to open their doors at 9 am -local time of each country - to receive voters.
Runoff at home takes place on Tuesday for two days.
The High Elections Committee (HEC) said that up to 30,531 expats cast their vote in the elections last week.
Voters will choose candidates to represent their districts in 14 governorates.
The second phase of the general elections is slated for 21-22 November for Egyptians abroad, and 22-23 November at home. Voters in the rest 13 governorates are due to choose their representatives.
