Military air strikes kill 22 militants in N. Pakistan


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) At least 22 militants were killed and six hideouts were destroyed in military air strikes carried out in North Waziristan tribal region of northern Pakistan, said the military on Sunday.
According to the Pakistani military's Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan Air Force (PAF) jets carried out aerial strikes close to Pak-Afghan border ahead of Datta Khel area killing 22 terrorists. Six militant hideouts were also destroyed as a result of the strikes, said the military's media wing.
The air strikes were carried out at night after credible intelligence reports were received regarding the presence of terrorists in the vicinity, it added.
The air strikes are a continuation of the comprehensive military operation Zarb-e-Azb against the foreign and local militants in the tribal region bordering Afghanistan.
On October 1, at least 25 militants were killed in air strikes that targeted militants' hideouts near Datta Khel area of North Waziristan Agency.
