Saudi King: We will investigate deadly crane accident, release results


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud of Saudi Arabia underlined that an incident, involving the inadvertent fall of a crane leading to the death of over 100 people and the injury of another 238, will be investigated, with the results later revealed.
After he inspected the scene of the accident at the holy site of Masjid Al-Haram and visited those injured at a hospital, he said that his visit was to stand on what had happened and how to rebuild the damaged construction.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and himself, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, are greatly committed to the holy site along with the ancient city of, Madina, "more than any other place in the world," he added.
Those wounded included nationals of several countries, including Afghanistan, Egypt, Iran, Pakistan and Turkey.
The King was afterwards sat down and was briefed on the condition of those wounded and the treatment each was receiving.
He later expressed his sympathy and condolences over those who passed away and hope that those injured would get a speedy recovery.
