Our partnership with Oman Air has grown, says Sayyid Khalid

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Oman football Association (OFA) will get on board Oman Air for the fourth year running and the partnership has developed over the years into a strong bond according to Sayyid Khalid al Busaidy the chairman of the OFA.

Speaking to Muscat Daily on Wednesday after signing an agreement with Oman Air for its role as the official carrier of the senior national team Sayyid Khalid said 'We are pleased to continue our partnership with Oman Air and we believe both the organisations have benefited mutually. We are proud to have the national carrier of the sultanate as the official carrier of the national team.

'This is not just a sponsorship agreement but a partnership that goes beyond it as we have realised over the past three years. When we began it was just an agreement concerning tickets. But now it is a much more matured relationship that brings together for the nation the synergies of the OFA and Oman Air.'

The OFA chief said that the close association with Oman Air also sends a message to the youth of the sultanate that we endorse the airline.

'Our football stars are proud to display the Oman Air logo on the national team jersey. We work together to deliver a positive message to the world of the great country that we live in' said Sayyid Khalid.

'We would like to make Oman Air a preferred carrier for the Omani youth' added the OFA boss.

Paul Gregorwitsch Oman Air's CEO said 'Oman Air has been a regular supporter of sports activities in the sultanate and football is an extremely popular sport. We are happy to have developed our partnership with the OFA and the senior national team which is doing very well these days. The tie-up has helped Oman Air grow as a brand.'

He added 'We plan to have a long-term relationship with the OFA. Though the contract is for one year we are here to stay. The deal involves three main ways of support - monetary ticketing and the promotion of Oman Air as a brand through football domestically and internationally.'

Sayyid Khalid said that although Oman Air's ticket allocation in the deal is primarily meant for the senior national team's tours the OFA has often judiciously availed the privilege for club teams' trips to Salalah for Omantel Professional League (OPL) matches and also for overseas travel of the national age-group squads.
