Israeli Police Arrest a Journalist, Two Students


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Israeli police arrested on Wednesday a photojournalist and two female students from the Al-Aqsa Islamic School at the Chain Gate to Al Aqsa Mosque.

Local sources said that the Israeli police deployed early morning its elements in the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, set up military checkpoints, prevent women and students of the legitimate schools from entering the mosque for the third consecutive day while securing incursions of Jewish settlers.

For his part, media center for Jerusalem and al-Aqsa affairs spokesman said Israeli police arrested photographer Said Rokn at the Chain Gate and two students from the Al-Aqsa Islamic School and took them to Beit al-Yaho police station in the Old City.

In a related context, 27 Jewish settlers broke this morning into Al-Aqsa Mosque's courtyards throw the Mughrabi Gate under heavy protection of Israeli police and carried out provocative tours in its courtyards.
