New 'MERS' Saudi Cases


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Saudi Arabia Health Ministry on Monday reported 49 confirmed new Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) corona virus cases during the last week; 47 cases in Riyadh and one in each of Najran, Abha and in the south of the Kingdom.

The ministry said, in a statement, 16 cases were admitted at public hospitals and 33 in private ones from Aug 16 to 22. Up to 1,390 samples of corona virus were examined at the government laboratories during the same period, the statement added. It also said total number of confirmed cases since disease outbreak in the Kingdom reached 1,141, 592 of whom recovered, while 52 cases were still under treatment in addition to six in quarantine.
