Omani Cultural Days conclude


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Omani Cultural Days concluded here on Sunday. The event began under the patronage of Pedro Spadale deputy minister for international relations of Rio de Janeiro and in the presence of H E Sheikh Hamad bin Hilal al Maamari Undersecretary for Cultural Affairs in the Ministry of Heritage and Culture (MoHC) at France-Brazil House.

H E Dr Khalid bin Said al Jaradi Oman's Ambassador to Brazil delivering a speech said that the Omani Cultural Days event coincided with the 450th anniversary of establishing the city of Rio de Janeiro. He said the event aimed to highlight the sultanate's cultural and civilisational heritage as well as its diverse tourism and cultural potential.

Meanwhile Spadale said that his country looks forward to strengthening relations and the event was a great opportunity for Brazilians to familiarise with sultanate's heritage and civilisation. Michelle Halabi secretary general Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce said the event aimed at cementing the concept of religious tolerance and coexistence among nations. He said the Brazilian TV broadcast a documentary on Oman recently.
