Turkey: Police officer killed in PKK attack in southeast
(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) A Turkish soldier was killed and another seriously wounded in an armed attack on a military vehicle in southeastern Mardin province late Saturday, official sources said.
The military vehicle was attacked by the members of the Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) with long-range rifles in Bahcelievler neighborhood of Midyat district.
The two police officers were taken to Midyat State Hospital and one of them later died of his wounds, sources said.
Police have launched a large-scale operation to find the attackers.
