Lil Wayne Gets Booted Off Plane While Listening Jamaican Icons Music
(MENAFNEditorial)
August 5 2015 - Kingston Jamaica - A pilot flying a private jet carrying Lil Wayne and his entourage was clearly not star struck by the rap mogul’s swagger. That became pretty evident after ‘Weezy’ was reported to have been given the boot after starting to smoke a joint onboard the aircraft.
His actions have led many to speculate about what could have caused the “Fireman” rapper to test the pilot’s patience by lighting up. One theory swirling around is that the rapper might have been spending too much time in the company of Jamaican reggae icon Junior Reid with whom he recently recorded a collaboration for his new album. It is even said that he might have been listening to Reid’s which was recently released by JR. Productions.
While Reid is not known for causing inflight problems it is no secret that the dreadlocked reggae and dancehall superstar is a proponent of the smoking of marijuana with references being made in a number of his songs. A has collaborated on tracks with other rappers including The Game and recently released another album which features other collaborative efforts. Whether Lil Wayne was under his influence or not Weezy’s actions obviously did not go down well with the pilot.
According to reports coming from TMZ Lil Wayne chartered the private jet and boarded it along with his entourage. Just before takeoff he is said to have sought the permission of the pilot for his friends and himself to ‘light ‘em up’ so to speak but the aviator decided he would not have it. Despite the refusal Lil Wayne who recently released his Free Weezy album decided to roll up a spliff and light it anyway. With members of his travelling crew following suit the pilot who had by then taken off duly turned the jet around 17 minutes into the flight and returned to the Ft. Lauderdale Airport where it had just left.
While many speculate the motive behind Tunechi’s behaviour others have suggested that what was in his cup may have also been an influence. Pictures taken of the former Cash Money front man showed him with a cup containing a familiar looking liquid as he left the plane. The contents are believed to have been sizzurp a mixture which has landed Weezy in the hospital on several occasions in the past.
Only time will tell whether Lil Wayne has learned his lesson about not smoking onboard a plane. For now the rapper has a lot on his plate; what with his beef with Birdman and Young Thug along with the holdup of his Carter V album that is tied up in legal red tape.
