(MENAFN- Arab News) Oman Air opened its refurbished First and Business Class lounges at Muscat International Airport on Monday. The lounges were opened by Maitha bint Saif Al-Mahrouqi undersecretary at the Omani Ministry of Tourism and deputy chairman of Oman Air. Also present were senior members of the Royal Oman Police Oman Airports Management Company the Omani media and Oman Air's CEO Paul Gregorowitsch.
The refurbishment program has been undertaken not only to ensure that the lounges remain in pristine condition but also to ensure that they offer even more facilities.
Located on the first floor of the terminal each lounge was originally designed by the UK-based design agency JPA and was first opened in 2010. The refurbishment program was announced in February and the reopened facilities can now accommodate an additional 100 guests.
Furthermore the lounges' dining facilities have been enhanced. In addition to the outstanding buffet service with its comprehensive range of fresh dishes a new a la carte option allows guests to enjoy haute cuisine from the comfort of their lounge seats.
Maitha bint Saif Al-Mahrouqi said:'I am delighted that Oman Air is reopening its superb First and Business Class lounges at Muscat International Airport. They will offer VIPs and other premium customers Oman Air's award-winning hospitality in a stylish and elegant setting. They will also help to showcase the very best of Omani design craftsmanship and culinary skill to a discerning international audience.'
Gregorowitsch said: 'These beautiful new lounges are the perfect complement to the First and Business Class cabins that we offer onboard Oman Air's aircraft. They provide every facility our premium customers can wish for as they relax and prepare for their flights. Furthermore they reflect the same extraordinarily high standards as our premium check-in and premium fast-track facilities offer at Muscat.'
