At least 20 people killed in Iran floods


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) At least 20 people have been killed and 16 injured during a thunderstorm accompanied by copious rainfall and high winds of up to 80 km/h which hit rural areas near the Iranian capital Tehran.

Iranian Fars News Agency quoted a local official as saying that most of the injuries were due to broken trees and others, saying that a sand-thunderstorm followed by a thunderstorm and heavy rain hit Tehran.
