Qatar achieves high ranks in Quran competitions
(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar has achieved second rank in Algeria International Contest for Memorisation, Interpretation and Recitation of the Holy Quran. Qatar was represented by Abdullah Abu Sherida in the category of memorising the holy book. Qatar also achieved fourth rank in the Jordan International Competition for Holy Quran Memorisation. The state was represented by Abdulaziz Helwan.
Top winners in the competition, which involved over 50 Arab and Islamic countries, were honoured in the Great Mosque in the Algerian capital of Algiers. The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs always achieves advanced ranks in such contests.
