Qatar- Ooredoo launches Electronic Medical Record service

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Ooredoo yesterday announced that Qatar's first cloud-based Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Practice Management System has gone live, supporting automated services for primary heathcare facilities in the country.

Hosted in the advanced Ooredoo Data Centre, the new service will use a dedicated connection to enable the private healthcare sector to manage patients' clinical information in an efficient way.

CloudClinik is the first cloud-based EMR and Practice Management solution for medical and dental centres in Qatar, and offers a robust set of solutions for doctors, clinics and healthcare facilities that require no software installation or IT expertise.

The EMR solution will have a transformative effect on healthcare organisations, freeing up time and resources so that they can focus on more important patient-facing issues.

The service, announced in partnership with CloudClinik at ITU World Telecom 2014 in Doha, deploys latest technology and Ooredoo's biggest, fastest network to manage high volumes of patients' private information securely and effectively, simplifying daily tasks for employees.

Waleed Al Sayed, Chief Operating Officer, Ooredoo, said: "Smart healthcare solutions will play a key role in delivering Qatar National Vision 2030, with health being one of the key human development pillars.

"Ooredoo is building on the foundations of our network, which is the biggest and fastest in Qatar, to introduce first-of-their-kind smart services for the healthcare industry.

"The launch of our EMR and Practice Management solution will deliver immediate benefits for physicians, patients and the community."

Sajjad Kirmani, Founder & CEO, CloudClinik, said: "CloudClinik, developed using the industry's best practices and new generation technologies, offers an easy-to-adopt digital platform for practitioners to bring about significant efficiencies in the primary healthcare paradigm.

"Collaborating with Ooredoo, we are geared up to support the Supreme Council of Health's vision to make Qatar a role model and a leader in smart healthcare facilities."

Built under the guidance of medical specialists, CloudClinik delivers a superior Web experience to help doctors optimise their efficiency and profitability.

Key features of CloudClinik include online and walk-in patient registration, ePrescription, appointment tracking via SMS and email, insurance claims generation, and customisable templates and order-sets.

To get started with CloudClinik, businesses need a web-browser, desktop, laptop/tablet/smartphone, high speed Internet connection, and a scanner to access tools.
