Roadside bomb injures 18 policemen in Egypt's Sinai


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) At least 18 Egyptian policemen were injured when a roadside bomb exploded targeting their patrol in Al-Arish in northern Sinai on Thursday.

All the policemen had minor injuries, an official source at the Ministry of Interior told Egypt's official Middle East News Agency (MENA).

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, Police reported that gunmen on a motorbike shot dead a police captain near his home in Beni Suef, south of the country's capital, Cairo.

Egyptian Interior Minister Maj. Gen. Magdy Abdel Ghaffar called for intensifying efforts to arrest the suspects. (end) rg.ss
