MoTC to impose fee on empty foreign transport vehicles entering Oman
carrying out commercial transport activities in the country.
It prevents them from loading goods on the way out of the country without prior permission.
As per the decision foreign land transport company vehicles and their crews cannot stay in Oman for more than seven days without MoTC and ROP authorisation.
The fees will be collected by the ministry represented by the Directorate General of Roads and Land Transport.
According to authorities the decision aims to regulate land transport operations in Oman after many violations by buses and heavy vehicles owned by foreign companies entering the country were registered.
The ministry has called upon all concerned companies and individuals to comply with the decision.
