Oman- Strong rial opens up holiday options across the world

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) With GCC currencies performing well this could be an ideal time for expatriates and citizens to travel to some popular holiday destinations this summer.

A team from Travelex has put together a list of top ten currencies against which the Omani rial has strengthened to help travellers select their ultimate getaway destination.

The best currency to buy is the Brazilian real against which the Omani rial is up 35 per cent compared to this time last year. And with Rio's temperatures from June to September in the early 20s many travellers might like to consider the land of samba for a getaway.

Those interested in adventure can trek up Mt Kilimanjaro or go for a safari with the rial up 33 per cent against the Tanzanian shilling.

The antipodean expatriate population will be eyeing a long trip home to benefit from the rial being up 26 per cent against the New Zealand dollar and 21 per cent against the Australian dollar compared to last year.

Meanwhile those planning to visit Europe this summer have a reason to celebrate with the rial up 19 per cent against the euro.

In addition Turkey has become nearly a third less cheaper for those earning in rials making a break in the bustling metropolis of Istanbul or one of its coastal beach resorts look increasingly attractive.

'With the Gulf currencies performing so well against such attractive destinations I'm sure many will be considering taking advantage and planning a vacation to escape the heat.

'Hopefully this list will make the decision-making process easier - particularly for those facing the expense of travelling as a family.
