Samsung Launches New Wireless Charger

(MENAFN- Arab Times) Whether they're catching us up on social media, or giving us the boost we need to stay organized, smartphones have become our day-to-day companions. So it's no then that a lack of battery life can actually cause people to feel stress and panic. In surveys conducted around the world, 92 percent of respondents in Britain reported feel stressed when their batteries go on the blink and 44 percent of respondents in the US note that they are regularly bothered by lost battery life. Thanks to new and emerging tech, wireless charging is finally closing the gap.

Going back as far as the mid-2000s, Samsung began developing wireless charging technology when it launched a division solely responsible for wireless charging. Most recently, Samsung has produced the most up-to-date wireless charging technology with the Samsung S6 and S6 edge.

One of the biggest challenges of wireless charging is design. Creating a device that increases efficiency yet remain easy to use is no simple task. In a method that's never been done before, the new Samsung Wireless Charger created for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge features two types of filters with different characteristics that overlap. This simple design reduces overall size while maintaining unmatched functionality.

Sitting at only 0.27 mm, approximately 1/3 of that of the Galaxy S5 (0.8mm) and equipped with the most up-to-date wireless charging technology, the Samsung Wireless Charger is ready to use whenever you are in need of re-charging.

Constant use of your smartphone can drain the battery quickly, and you don't always have time to wait for the battery go from the red to the black. The Galaxy S6 and S6 edge wireless charger has an impressively short charging time in comparison to the Galaxy S5. The Galaxy S6 requires only 80 minutes to charge compared to its predecessor's 120 minutes. Within 30 minutes, the battery is charged to more than 50 percent.

In addition to a speedier charge, Samsung added Cell Sensing technology to the new charger. Cell Sensing monitors a battery's status by measuring the current and voltage of the battery cell, increasing charging speeds and making battery use more efficient. When the battery is running low - the smartphone Charger IC makes adjustments, delivering the longest use of battery possible.

The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are the first smartphones that can support both PMA and WPC standards for global wireless charging. This is good news for users who want to take advantage of public wireless charging stations. According to market research firm IHS, the global wireless charging market will expand by more than 40-fold compared in 2018 compared to 2014 and not all phones will be compatible. This means that even if users forget their charging dock at home - the Samsung S6 and S6 edge is compatible with any charger on the market.
