D' Luf's Strikers Krau Thai Restaurant make grade for stepladder finals
(MENAFN- Arab News) JEDDAH: D' Luf's Strikers and Krau Thai Restaurant became the two teams to qualify from the shootout to set the stage for the stepladder finals and championship match in the OFBC Friday Morning League 5+1 Season 4 at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.
During the three games series with handicap shootout for the remaining five teams to miss outright places for the stepladder phase of the competition Luf's and Krau Thai posted the highest scores of 2731 and 2641.
They join the top 3 finalists namely Taurus Cyclone and Selections in the five-team stepladder cast that will contest the major prizes in the tournament sponsored by Zikato Construction through Operations Manager Albert Zuniga.
Eliminated teams Zikato Strikers Guardians Thunder and Troopers finished in that order during the shootout counting as the 15th week on 2603 2564 and 2313.
Nos. 4 and 5 teams Luf's and Krau Thai face off in the first match of the stepladder with the winner to take on No. 3 Selections. The second match winner then advances opposite No. 2 Cyclone in another knockout game to determine who plays waiting No. 1 finalist in the championship match.
The championship match format is a two games series with handicap. In case of a tie the highest seeded team wins.
Alexander Duma came good on the day and emerged the highest scorer at Luf's on 607 on scratch games of 199 182 and 154. Cromwel Marco and Carmen Duma likewise went the distance for Luf's at 548 and 489 while with two games each were Danny Atubang 153-154 Nards Hassan 131-162 and Osman de Guzman 1780-165.
For Krau Thai it was the duo of Margie Villasanta and Ed Labuac that delivered the most lethal blows on 543 and 539. Sid Lapena was the other player to do three gams on 469. Obet Vidonia had 134-178 Ester Halata 181-144 and Alice Penus 143-145.
