France concerned about worsening clashes in E.Ukraine
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) France on Thursday said it was "concerned" about reports that there were worsening clashes and fresh fighting between Ukrainian and separatist forces in the east of the country.
Reports said that there was an outbreak of fighting near the town of Mariinka, despite a fragile ceasefire between the belligerents.
These clashes "must stop immediately," the French Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"Only the full implementation of measures agreed in (the) Minsk (accords) last February will allow for a peaceful and lasting settlement of the situation in the east of Ukraine," the statement warned.
