Death toll in Ghana Petrol Station Blast Rises
The broadcaster said about 95 bodies were recovered from the site of the blast in the city centre. Police have not confirmed the death toll. It was not clear what caused the explosion, which occurred during heavy rain late on Wednesday.
Large numbers of people had reportedly sought shelter at the petrol station during a downpour. Police were counting bodies and bringing out victims from their homes.
Floods meanwhile swept through several areas of the capital, creating traffic jams and power cuts and forcing some employees to spend the night in their offices.
