(MENAFN- QNA) Jordan Border Guards foiled an attempt to cross into the country by occupants of two cars coming from Syria illegally, an Armed Forces official was reported by Jordanian Petra news agency as saying.
While the two vehicles tried to infiltrate, two other vehicles moved forward from inside Jordan to facilitate the infiltration.
In the wake of the incident, Border Guards closed the area under their jurisdiction, in order to deal with the attempt firmly by applying rules of engagement used in such conditions, the source added.
"Border Guards crushed the four cars and burnt them, besides seizing huge caches of narcotics and weapons."
