Earthquake hit Sea of Oman
(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale was recorded in the Sea of Oman but no loss of human life or damage to property was reported, the Seismological Centre of Sultan Qaboos University announced this evening.
The Oman News Agency cited the Centre's statement as saying, ''The earthquake at the depth of 16 kilometres under the sea was far from Muscat by a distance of 242 kilometres.'' The statement noted that the tremor was relatively moderate and didn't affect population and properties.
