Girl commits suicide after failing in class XII exam in India


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A 17-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide in adjoining Dewas district in Indian State of Madhya Pradesh on Monday after failing to clear her Class XII examination, police said.

Shivika Nimbalkar, who studied in a private school, poured kerosene and set herself ablaze. She was depressed after not being able to clear her class XII exams, the results of which were announced on Sunday, Dewas Kotwali Police Station Inspector Vijay Choudhary said.

Shivika, who sustained 100 per cent burns after she set herself ablaze, was rushed to government-run Maharaja Yeshwantrao (MY) Hospital where she died, he said.

A case has been registered and further investigations are on, he added.
