Asian passenger caught with illicit drug at HIA in Qatar

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) An Asian traveller, arriving at Hamad International Airport on a direct flight from his home country, has been arrested for carrying an illicit drug.

Airport customs inspectors noticed something suspicious in the traveller's luggage during the security scanning process. A subsequent inspection revealed a ball-shaped package wrapped with a black plastic bag.

When they opened the package, they found a bag of soft dates, inside which was hidden another bag containing around 715gm of a herbal substance, suspected to be marijuana.

Immediately, a report was filed and the traveller handed over to the Drug Prevention Department of the Ministry of Interior for necessary legal procedures.
