Spot deportations stir panic among expats
It has been reported that the Ministry of Interior issued a decision to deport expatriates caught driving without a license.
Many people have commented on the alleged decision to deport erring expatriate immediately. Some said this should be done through legal channels such as filing a lawsuit to ensure that the concerned expatriate receives all his financial rights for him to pay his dues to companies or banks in case proven innocent. They argued the random deportation of expatriates is an inappropriate way of fixing the lopsided population structure of the country.
They also voiced objection to the purported use of force against expatriates during inspection as it could affect their productivity at work. Meanwhile sources said many expatriates have been deported and their children wasted a full academic year while some had to beg for money to buy their tickets.
