Six charity associations benefit from Oman Flour Mills donations

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Oman Flour Mills Company made donations to six charities at a ceremony held at its headquarters in Muttrah on Monday

The biggest amount (RO10000) was given to Al Rahma Charity which provides financial aid to low-income families. The Association of Early Intervention for Children with Disabilities Oman Down Syndrome Association Oman Cancer Association Association for the Welfare of Handicapped Children and the Omani Bahjah Orphan Society were also recipients.

Ali Habaj CEO Oman Flour Mills said the organisations were carefully chosen. 'We did extensive research into each one of them and found out these are very active in Oman and they have very clear objectives'  he said.  'For us what's important is that they are really active in society. We need to see a programme and how they really build on it.' Habaj described the CSR initiative as the culmination of a multi-year strategy which began with support for company employees in way of home renovation payment of medical bills and supporting marriage costs.

'We thought 'before you give outside give inside'. More or less we studied each employee's situation and planned our support accordingly.'

The company has also extended its support to the needy in Muttrah area working along with the Muttrah Health Centre and Muttrah Primary School.
