(MENAFNEditorial) Emirates Post Group organized a blood donation campaign at its head office in Ramool in association with the Blood Transfusion Services and Research Center of Sharjah, in implementation of the initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, entitled "My Blood ".. for my country."

The campaign generated an overwhelming response from the Group's customers and employees. The initiative was in line with EPG's belief that blood donation is a noble humanitarian gesture that could save the lives of thousands of patients who need blood transfusions, especially those who suffer them from thalassemia or some incurable diseases, as well as accident cases.

Mr. Ibrahim Bin Karam, Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Post Group, said the initiative was an extension of the Group's support to the community at various levels and a way of contributing to the noble campaign launched by our leaders to boost the stock of blood in UAE hospitals to meet the needs of patients, and to save the lives of many.

According to Dr. Hussein Al Rand, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in charge of clinics and health centers, said the Blood Transfusion Services and Research Center in Sharjah organizes many campaigns to donate blood in order to inform and educate members of the community to participate in this voluntary work. There was a good turnout of employees and customers at the fully equipped mobile blood bank.

The center, while thanking Emirates Post Group for its cooperation, underlined the importance of blood donation as a noble initiative that extends a helping hand to child patients and thalassemia patients or those suffering from leukemia and involved in serious accidents.

It point pointed out that donating blood regularly improves the donor's blood, and increases the activity of the bone marrow to produce new quantities of blood cells, and boost the circulation system, and reduces the likelihood of strokes and high proportion of iron in the blood.
