Official warns of bloodbath at Yarmouk refugee camp

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Zakaria Al-Agha, has warned that new massacres would occur against Palestinian refugees by the terrorist group Daesh, which controls the Yarmouk refugee camp in Damascus.

In a statement released on Sunday, Al-Agha condemned the "execution campaigns" carried out by Daesh and Al-Nusra Front, stressing that these groups are committing crimes against humanity and killing innocent refugees in their homes and "in front of the sight of the world, which is not stopping this horrible tragedy".

He pointed out that Daash and the Al-Nusra Front are holding dozens of Palestinian refugees, whose lives are in danger after the group carried out executions a few days ago in the Yarmouk refugee camp. He added that the camp is suffering from a humanitarian disaster after running out of food and medicine, while there is an inability by the relief agency to provide services to the Palestinian refugees.

He also called upon international organizations, the UN Security Council, UNRWA and the International Committee of the Red Cross to urgently intervene to stop the bloodshed and save the lives of refugees and find a safe means to evacuate the wounded and provide emergency aid to people trapped amidst the fighting.
