Jordan evacuates citizens from volatile situation in Yemen


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Forty-eight Jordanian citizens were evacuated from Yemen late Friday, according to an announcement from the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate affairs.

The Jordanian News Agency, PETRA, reported the ministry's spokesman, Sabah Al Rafie, as saying that the evacuees were transported to Saudi Arabia following directives from King Abdullah II.

Al Rafie also said that the Ministry is working around the clock to secure the evacuation of all Jordanians in Yemen, adding that the number of evacuees has so far reached 145.
